Physical Hazards - experimental OSH: sound & space

Physical Hazards

- experimental OSH: sound & space -

Task 1:

You will know conduct an OSH experiment where you will discover if space affects sound levels. To register sound level you will need the sound level meter/noise meter. There are variables that will change (different spaces, such as: classroom, school gym, school canteen, playground, school library, bus station) and others that will be kept (number of students and the teacher; closed windows in rooms, duration of the sound register)

Note:

It is important to fill in the Planning Board that will guide you throughout the experiment

planning board:

question:

Does space interferes with sound levels?

before the experiment:

1.

What is going to be changed?

2.

What will be measured?

3.

What will be kept fixed?

4.

How it will be registered?

Probable results: What we believe is going to happen and why

a)

The bigger the space, the higher the noise level

Why?

b)

The smaller the space, the higher the noise level

Why?

c)

There are no differences in different locations

Why?

the experiment:

1.

What are we going to do and how will we conduct the experiment?

2.

Which safety measures should we consider?

after the experiment:

1.

What did the experiment shown?

2.

The answer to the question
